Salary range CAD $115k - 145K (Vancouver)

Principal Responsibilities

  • Radiolabels novel protein-based chelator-conjugates and other compounds as needed to advance Abdera’s pipeline assets
  • Designs labeling conditions and assays for reliable preparation of radioconjugates to evaluate in assays and in vivo studies
  • Manages and effectively communicates radiochemistry data and conditions to ensure smooth coordination with internal groups and CROs
  • Helps to QC data and troubleshoot radiosynthesis processes both internally and externally
  • Adheres to best practices of radiation safety and works with fellow staff members to maintain a contamination-free and well-organized workspace
  • Researches and stays current on methods in radiochemistry and nuclear medicine
  • Assists with diligence and write-ups for new IP filings
  • Participates within the multidisciplinary Abdera research organization to analyze data and push new molecular targets through a robust discovery pipeline
  • Keeps excellent records and lab notes with thorough reporting using electronic lab notebooks and databases

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • PhD or MSc in a chemistry or radiochemistry discipline
  • 2+ years (PhD) or 4+ years (MSc) post-graduate experience in radiochemistry at a clinical or industrial organization
  • 5 years of experience in radiochemistry, radiopharmaceutical, and/or CMC development combined academic and industrial/clinical
  • Experience working with common medical isotopes is highly valuable
  • Experience hands-on labeling antibody or peptide radioconjugates

Skills And Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to produce radioconjugates on tight schedules as a certified nuclear energy worker at an academic or industrial location
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of nuclear chemistry and physics as needed to safely and accurately run quantitative analyses on radiolabeled tracers
  • Understands safe operation in a regulated environment performing radiolabeling, analysis, and stability studies on radiolabeled compounds
  • Clinical or Industrial experience directly designing and executing labelings preferred
  • Thinks critically and can develop new and improved procedures while working independently
  • Knowledgeable in radiobiology and able to interpret in vivo and in vitro data to drive decisions on new chemistry
  • Collaborative, team player with strong interpersonal skills and good work ethi
  • Effective written and oral communications
