Abdera is seeking a Contracts Paralegal to provide support across the organization with all phases of contract lifecycle collaborating with colleagues and external partners.

Salary Range: US$ 110K - 160K

Principal Responsibilities

  • Assist with all legal matters including reviewing, tracking, and executing contracts, Confidentiality agreements (CDAs) across organization.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize various contracts and agreements including vendor contracts, client agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), work orders and employment contracts.
  • Ensure contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to negotiate contract terms and conditions.
  • Manage contract lifecycle from initiation through execution and renewal.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks and issues.
  • Maintain contract templates, contract management systems and databases to track contract status and obligations.
  • Act as first point of contact for contractual questions for storing, managing, and retrieving contracts.
  • Standardize policies and procedures, playbooks

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Certified Paralegal, Certified Commercial Contracts Manager) preferred with 5+ years of experience as a Paralegal.
  • Proven experience as a Paralegal and/or Contracts Manager in biotech/pharmaceutical industry.

Skills And Abilities

  • Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal lawyers and support personnel as well as external stakeholders including external law firms.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Provide wide range of organizational administrative and analytical support and assistance to legal team.
  • Provision of legal services across the company.
  • Expert Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with IP docketing software, contract management systems, DocuSign.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and tasks and able to meet timelines.
  • Team-oriented, progressive thinker who enjoys participating in an innovative and creative work environment.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary industrial environment.
