We are looking for a Business AI intern who operates at the center of the team: building tools, agents, and workflows used daily by the investment and operations team, automating recurring work, and bringing the team to a consistent level of AI fluency. You will design, build, and deliver AI work end to end, scoping each project directly with the user. The tools, agents, and workflows you deploy go straight into daily use by the team. You will also learn precision medicine VC from the inside, seeing how partners evaluate companies, how diligence gets done, and how a portfolio is supported. You leave with a documented body of shipped work and a track record with senior investors and operators.

The intern is embedded with the partners and companies they support, learning how a life science venture capital runs from the inside. The position is full-time and hybrid in Montreal with the possibility of converting to a longer-term role.

Key Responsibilities

Build and Deploy

  • Identify opportunities to build new tools, agents, and workflows by sitting with each team member to understand their use case in their own terms, and by bringing your own ideas to the table.

  • Prototype quickly and put working solutions in front of the team at the right level of abstraction for the problem, ranging from a single-purpose script to an agent, to a small internal application, then iterate based on what they use.

  • Onboard new connectors and solutions as they become available, configure and maintain the automations that workflows depend on, and build custom connectors where pre-built options fall short.

  • Team Enablement and Training

  • Establish a shared baseline of AI fluency across the team, supported by common tooling, documented practices, and accessible internal resources.

  • Deliver this through 1:1 sessions, hands-on support, and internal guides written for non-technical users.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for tooling questions, setup, and troubleshooting.

Governance and Documentation

  • Ensure that data governance policy is applied consistently to AI-assisted work, covering data handling, output validation, and human review requirements.

  • Maintain a structured record of implemented workflows, the prioritized backlog, known limitations, and best practices.

  • Track what works, what does not, and which use cases were tested and rejected, so the team has a clear record to learn from.

Ideal Candidate

  • An undergraduate or master’s degree in data science, Business Intelligence, Management Information Systems, or a related field, in progress or recently completed. A portfolio of self-taught work counts as equivalent.

  • Daily applied use of AI tools through personal projects and self-directed experimentation, including at least one automated or agent-based workflow you have built or configured independently.

  • Strong business process literacy and clear written and verbal communication. You translate unstructured problem descriptions into working solutions and explain trade-offs and limitations to the team.

  • Self-directed and comfortable switching between concurrent tasks.

  • Experience with APIs, integration platforms, or MCP-style connectors.

  • A personal AI project you have built and used yourself, even if small.

  • Active participation in AI communities, open-source projects, or builder networks.

  • Exposure to a venture capital, finance, or life sciences environment.
