About Notch (www.notchtx.com)

Notch is an early-stage biotech company, working to maximize the benefit of cell therapies through a proprietary T cell-production platform which combines sophisticated product design with commercial-compatible processes to enhance patient outcomes. Notch’s iPSC-based technology platform allows for precision control of notch signaling, which removes several critical limiting factors in the development of cell therapies, delivering the ability to design and manufacture a uniform and unlimited supply of therapeutic T cells.

Role Summary

The candidate will be part of the Preclinical Sciences group in Seattle. The individual will have an opportunity to lead a passionate group of scientists and shape the science and culture of Notch’s research group in a tangible way. The ideal candidate will be technically sound at planning and executing a suite of immunological assays to characterize engineered effector cells. The individual will be responsible for supporting our efforts to develop appropriate armoring strategies to improve the function of effector cells that are generated by Notch’s differentiation process. This role will help leverage an understanding of immune responses to solid and hematological tumors and help define product strategy to improve the efficacy of iPSC derived cell products. Through cross functional collaboration the Senior Scientist will contribute to the design and development of novel product designs for executing towards our pipeline initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead a project team to perform in depth functional characterization of our iPSC derived effector cells.
  • Leverage T cell biology, tumor biology, tumor microenvironment expertise in collaborative efforts with scientists to investigate, develop and implement novel strategies for armoring iPSC derived effector cell products.
  • Analyze data, interpret results, and present findings for both internal and external audiences. Integrate findings to identify next logical steps and participate in development of novel intellectual property for enhancing T-cell efficacy.
  • Assist with oversight of experimental design, data integrity and interpretation reported by team members.
  • Work as a part of cross-functional and cross-site groups to execute larger company endeavors and goals.
  • Contribute to strategic directions by identifying technologies that can add new capabilities.
