Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Principal Scientist to join our growing team. In this role you will design, execute, and analyze phenotypic cell-based screens central to our platform and collaborate with the broader biology team to advance our drug discovery efforts. The role is full-time and on-site in Montreal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and execute pooled lentiviral screening workflows in primary human immune cells and relevant disease models

  • Troubleshoot creatively and independently and proactively evaluate emerging screening technologies and methodologies; bring recommendations to scientific leadership

  • Demonstrate strong motivation, attention to detail, critical and creative thinking, and the ability to fully integrate into a high energy start-up environment

  • Develop and rigorously maintain SOPs, experimental records, and reproducible protocols to support a high-quality research environment

  • Collaborate with the broader biology and computational teams to connect screen outputs to target validation and drug discovery decisions

  • Support hit-to-lead characterization efforts as programs advance

Ideal Candidate

  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with 5-10 years of drug discovery experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment; or M.Sc. with 10-15 years of similar experience

  • Hands-on experience running phenotypic or functional screens in primary immune cells or cell lines, with a preference for pooled or high-throughput formats

  • Proven track record in developing, implementing, or applying high-throughput genetic perturbation or functional screening approaches

  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, production, and application of lentiviral libraries for large-scale screening

  • Proficiency in multi-color flow cytometry, including panel design, instrument operation, and analysis software

  • Strong quantitative mindset with the ability to interpret and communicate complex datasets clearly

  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills; comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, early-stage environment

  • Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively
