About the role:

We are seeking a Part-Time Research Intern to support our Antibody Engineering Team. This is a hands-on laboratory role for a locally based student or recent graduate interested in gaining experience in molecular biology and muti-specific antibody expression and characterization assays in an industry setting. The intern will assist with routine lab work and support experiments involving mammalian cell culture, and multi-specific antibody production and characterization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the team with molecular biology tasks, including plasmid DNA prep and QC
• Support the team in weekly mammalian cell transfections for multi-specific antibody production
• Perform experiments to characterize properties of multi-specific antibodies
• Keep accurate lab records and follow standard lab protocols
• Maintain lab cleanliness and assist with reagent preparation and inventory tracking

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or a related field
• Availability for 20–25 hours/week on weekdays (onsite work required), with availability Tuesday-Thursday preferred
• Interest in protein expression, cell culture, and/or molecular biology techniques
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a collaborative lab environment
• Goal oriented, highly organized, and capable of multitasking
• Thrive in a cross functional team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The range for this hourly internship role is $20-24 per hour, depending on experience. This role will average 20 hours per week and is located in upper La Jolla.
